Principles of assistance for the unemployed and the poor
Sheptytsky published a pastoral message "To help the unemployed and the poor" (December 13, 1931). To coordinate the efforts, the Metropolitan organized a Country Committee for Rescue, and in each parish ordered the formation of a Union of Charity, which would unite people for various aid activities. A few years later, the Metropolitan addressed a pastoral to the Greek Catholic clergy, "Let’s help the unemployed."
