Defender of Galicia Ukrainians’ interests abroad

After the Ukrainians were defeated during the war, the future of Eastern Galicia was considered and decided at the Paris Peace Conference. Metropolitan Sheptytsky in late November 1920 went abroad with the aim of visiting Rome. He was abroad until July 1923.

During that time, the Metropolitan met with prominent political and ecclesiastical figures from France, Great Britain, Italy and the United States. He asked them to protect the rights of Ukrainians in the Polish state.
