The Metropolitan - Teacher of Young Artists

It is obvious that the Metropolitan was thinking about the creation of a Ukrainian artistic educational institution and wanted to participate in the process of forming young artists. We have separate memories of his art lectures, attended by students in the Metropolitan Chambers, where Sheptytsky conducted classes, using his own books and art albums as visual aids. The students mention the outstanding teaching abilities of Sheptytsky. There is a small collection of correspondence with students in his archive. He helped students in various ways during their artistic growth. Thus, from the exhibition of students' work (October 25, 1928), the Metropolitan bought "paintings of Mariyka Karpyuk, Stefa Gebus, Stepan Lutsyk, Hrits Smolsky, Mikhajlo Moroz, and Olya Pleshkan."
